Food For Thought: A Powerful New Vegan Documentary You Need to See!

Gem and I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the world premiere of Food For Thought, a new ground-breaking vegan documentary — and one that I was lucky enough to be a part of!

Walking the red carpet in London was surreal, with cameras flashing from every angle. We didn’t always know which way to look, but it was a lot of fun!

The evening kicked off with a VIP reception, where we caught up with our lovely activist friends, It’s Mel & Steve, met some of our amazing social media followers, and chatted with the film’s creators—actor Dan Richardson and producer Giles Alderson.

The atmosphere was buzzing, with champagne and hors d’oeuvres making the rounds. It’s a hard life, right?

A Fresh Take on Veganism

When it was time for the screening, we took our seats and were completely drawn in. Food For Thought delivers a fresh, engaging approach to veganism. It’s humorous, non-judgmental, and focuses on the positive impact on human and planetary health rather than dwelling too much on the negatives for animals—something that can sometimes turn audiences away.

One of the most powerful moments for me was when Dan watched slaughterhouse footage for the first time. The audience wasn’t shown the footage itself—just his raw, emotional reaction. Being the genuinely kind person he is, he broke down. I too, had tears in my eyes, and looking around, I could see the scene had a profound impact on the entire audience.

But the film didn’t dwell on sadness for long—soon, we were seeing beautiful sanctuary animals, lifting the mood instantly.

Food For Thought takes you on an emotional journey, and I was completely engaged from start to finish.

Proud to Be Part of Something Big

I had three scenes in the film, and I was really pleased with how they turned out. I felt proud to be part of a documentary that spreads such a powerful, viral message of kindness—to animals, the environment, and human health.

After the film, there was a Q&A session, and I was fascinated to learn that many audience members weren’t vegan. Even more exciting? They responded to the film really well!

Dan and Giles were lavished with well-deserved praise, and I was left with no doubt that this documentary will inspire many to rethink their choices.
